How do you know just what to wear to a beach wedding in Hawaii”?  This is one of the first things that comes to mind once a couple decides to make the trip across the Pacific Ocean for a destination wedding in Hawaii.   There are many good reasons to have a beach wedding in Hawaii in the first place. But, then the question always comes up when planning,  preparing, and packing for a beach wedding, “What do you wear?”  Well, keep in mind you are coming to a warm tropical climate. For example, fabrics like cotton, linen, or chiffon instead of a heavy gown should be considered.   A light and flowing wedding dress in white, aquamarine, sunflower,  or a even light coral color will add a nice luxurious touch.  Another staple piece like comfortable sandals are a must.  Remember you will most likely be walking over sand!  Then add on some shell themed jewelry, and perhaps sunglasses for cute pictures as well!

Groom Wedding Wear

Traditionally, a groom usually wears a shiny black tuxedo complete with bow tie. However, the black tux and white dress shirt elegance obviously is not  for everyone.  Plus black conducts heat which can make you hot.  Men should consider either cotton or linen material. Some examples of what the groom may wear to a beach wedding are: A casual Hawaiian aloha shirt made of comfortable cotton. Or any color button down linen shirt with a vest will look great with  khaki pants, and sandals.  Some guys prefer to wear their favorite sneakers too. A straw hat and definitely a pair of sunglasses will be stylish. So, there is usually one other primary reason why a bride and groom choose a beach for their special day, which might come as a surprise; the comfortable attire!

Guest Wear

As a friend or family member, if you are planning to attend a wedding in Hawaii,  then you will be happy to know your wedding attire is not a big concern or expense either. ​Wedding guest dress​ can follow the lead of the bride and groom.
