How to Get Married in Hawaii: A simple process

Knowing how to get married in Hawaii it is a fairly simple and straight forward process.  Whether it’s your first time to get married or second, to obtain a legal marriage license with the State of Hawaii is easy and  stress free.  It’s also made quite simple,  just start the process by filling out an application online with the State Of Hawaii, Department of Health.

Follow these steps:

 1) Fill out the Hawaii Online Marriage License Application

Begin by filling out a marriage license worksheet within one year of your wedding date.  Pay $65 to the State of Hawaii. Keep in mind, your application is good for one full year from the date you submit it online. So, to begin the application, you will need to apply online with the State of Hawaii Dept of Health Marriage License Office.

2) Meet a License Agent

Then, the next step to get married in Hawaii, you have to meet with a Licensing Agent.  No appointment is necessary, just show up during normal business hours. Location: State of Hawaii Department of Health Marriage License Office, 1250 Punchbowl St. Honolulu.  Bride and Groom need to be present and have photo identification like a passport or driver license. Hours of Operation are 8:00am-3:30pm Monday thru Friday. Perhaps time is short or you need to meet with a marriage license agent on the weekend or after normal business hours.  Then, please contact the License Office at 808-586-4544 to schedule a meeting at a different location.  For couples planning to stay on the North Shore of Oahu call this number: 808-293-6020.  For couples at Ko’olina Resort, call 808-679-3270.

3) Sign your name on the Marriage License!

So, on your wedding day, before leaving your hotel, don’t forget to bring your Marriage License Worksheet (and your wedding rings too!) with you to your ceremony. You both will have to sign it together with your wedding officiant. The officiant will take it after the ceremony and efile it later that day online. Once your license is filed, thats it!  If you need a copy of your license soon, you can receive a temporary copy from the State of Hawaii online.  Just remember your license locator ID number.  If in Hawaii for any length of time, just go back to the License Office and pick up it up.  Or, wait 4-6 weeks to receive it by US Postal Service. For specific questions, call 808-586-4544.

Bridal Haku Lei Floral Crown

Having a wedding in Hawaii and choosing to wear a Bridal Haku Lei Floral Crown goes hand in hand. It will add some cultural tradition to wear a lei of this kind.  Every bride dreams of feeling special, like a princess on their wedding day in Hawaii. This headpiece style of lei is worn for special occasions such as graduation ceremonies,  or wedding ceremonies. The name refers to a style of lei-making where the flowers and green leaves are braided and face outward.

Most of these headpiece leis are made with white orchid flowers but also mix orchid colors too. They are easily fitted with a few pins and then tied in the back. This lei will definitely accentuate a bride’s beauty while feeling like royalty on the most important day of her life.  In addition to the lei, adding Hawaiian music by a ukulele player that sings is so romantic.  That’s why it would be a good idea to have a musician add live music at your wedding ceremony.  The ukulele is unique to Hawaii.  It is the regional instrument that makes the music of Hawaii so nice to hear during your wedding ceremony.  To learn more, visit us and learn more about ordering a Hake Lei for your Wedding in Hawaii.
