5 best islands in Hawaii to marry

Exchanging rings Oahu

So, just what are the 5best islands in Hawaii to marry?  With so many options, it will leave you wondering which one to choose.  It’s not surprising that 25% of weddings in the United States are destination weddings with few guests. One of the primary reasons for this is that they are cheaper and easier to plan than a conventional or traditional wedding.  At the top of the list for a destination wedding are the Hawaiian Islands.  All it takes to make it a reality is finding the right wedding planner and booking just the right Hawaii wedding package that suits your desire.

As you plan to tie the nuptial knot, one crucial thing you should consider is your choice of Hawaii wedding venue and which Hawaii island should it be? Just read along.

Get Married on Oahu

One of the 5 best Islands

Oahu

The island of Oahu tops the list of the 5 best islands in Hawaii to get married.  Here you’ll find the home to the world famous destination resort of  Waikiki.  Here you’ll find beautiful beaches and gentle rolling waves among the many high rise buildings and fashion designer stores along Kalakaua Avenue.  Oahu means “Gathering Place”. You can call it the most urbanized Island of Hawaii with many restaurants, spas, hotels and all the fuss of New York.  There is no shortage of fun activities on Oahu.

Have you ever wondered why couples always dream about Honolulu beach weddings? Well, it’s because Oahu boasts of 125 beaches.  Honolulu is also the business hub for the State of Hawaii.  Downtown you’ll find important cultural sites like Iolani Palace where Hawaiian royalty lived.  Bishop Museum  is filled with art and cultural exhibits.  So if you’re planning to have a tropical Hawaii beach wedding and love shopping too, then you should probably consider Waikiki and one of its numerous Oahu beach wedding venues.

 Hawaii Island

Big Island of Hawaii, Bigger is best!

The Big Island of Hawaii

Hawaii Island is the biggest island in the state of Hawaii. It’s often referred to as the Big Island. You certainly should plan your Hawaii wedding package falls into this island if you’re thrilled by climatic wonders.  Having lived here before  for 6 years we recommend anywhere in the Kona or Kohala Districts for your stay.  The area is rich with Hawaiian history as well as home to the world reknown Kona Coffee.   There is also the quaint Kailua village in the heart of Kona with numerous restaurants and shops.  Here you can easily find a cafe serving some that good Kona Coffee.

The Big Island hosts 8 of earth’s 13 climatic zones.  The Big Island is perfect for a wedding destination for lovers that are fascinated about volcanos, mountains, weather dynamism, and mind-recalibrating air. If this defines you, then contact your Hawaii wedding planner to find you the best beach venue on Hawaii.

Get Married on Lanai

Before you book your tickets for an elopement in Hawaii, we suggest you take a long look at Lanai island.  Hawaii’s most secluded inhabited islands, Lanai is quite laid back with friendly and helpful locals. There are no traffic lights, three paved roads of 30 miles, and only a few hotels.  Nonetheless, it’s quite romantic. So, as long as you have a resourceful Hawaii wedding planner, your lanai wedding will be most memorable.

Lanai was once known as the “Pineapple Isle,  providing 75% of the worlds pineapples. But now it has now become the perfect getaway  for many looking to relax and re-energize.  When you go, be sure to check out one of Lanai’s favorite beaches at Hulopoe Beach by Four Seasons Resort.  The best scuba diving and snorkeling in all of Hawaii is found in this area.  For real, it’s a romantic and quiet destination wedding location for anyone who wants to get away from industrialization and its hurdles.  Plus, there are only about 3000 people living here.  You’ll make friends with everyone in no time!

Kauai, the Garden Isle

The Best Coastline

Kauai

Nowhere in the world is there an island as green, quiet, and peaceful as Kauai.  Popularly known as the ‘Garden Island’.  Kauai is surrounded by nature  97% of its landmass is covered with undeveloped mountains and rainforests.

Yea, you guessed right. It rains a lot in Kauai. But lots of folks love it. It’s so serene and beautiful with waterfalls, lovely birds,  just teaming with lush natural beauty.  If you make it to Kauai plan a hike along Kalalau Trail or a boat ride along Na Pali Coast.  The coastline is simply breathtaking.  Kauai is an excellent destination for Hawaii elopement weddings, especially if you love everything green.  It provides the perfect balance between activity and relaxation.  Here you’ll find very little development in comparison to Oahu.

Maui, Some say it’s the best

Maui is one of the most popular islands for Hawaii destination weddings. Well, it’s not as popular as Oahu and Hawaii. However, but it’s got a plethora of beautiful beaches  that make it the choice of many couples.  Some would say it’s the top 2 of the best islands in Hawaii to marry.

We believe that’s one of the reasons why Fox chose it as a location for filming the romantic series, Temptation Island. Don’t scream if we tell you that it has 80 cool beaches. That’s more than enough options for finding an intimate beach wedding location.

Locals call it “No Ka Oi”, “the best” Island in Hawaii, and we couldn’t agree more. Its beauty comes with lots of attention that makes it the destination of many Hawaii wedding packages.

Well, that’s our list of the 5 best Hawaii islands to marry.  But if you are still not sure then you’ll just have to spend your honeymoon island hopping!  Flights between the islands are less than 45 minutes.  You’ll cover a lot of ground and eventually come to your own conclusion of which Hawaii Island is your best.

Beach Wedding Wear Hawaii

Beach Wedding Wear for Hawaii

How do you know just what to wear to a beach wedding in Hawaii”?  This is one of the first things that comes to mind once a couple decides to make the trip across the Pacific Ocean for a destination wedding in Hawaii.   There are many good reasons to have a beach wedding in Hawaii in the first place. But, then the question always comes up when planning,  preparing, and packing for a beach wedding, “What do you wear?”  Well, keep in mind you are coming to a warm tropical climate. So, comfort and function are key.

Hawaii Wedding Dress

Naturally, when thinking of dresses for a Hawaii wedding, the first thing that will come to a bride’s mind might be a white wedding dress with a long train and sparkly high heels. This traditional fashion is beautiful and absolutely classic for traditional weddings.  But for a destination wedding in Hawaii,  a bride  may want to put a priority on something fun, stylish, and comfortable. For example, fabrics like cotton, linen, or chiffon instead of a heavy gown should be considered.   A light and flowing wedding dress in white, aquamarine, sunflower,  or a even light coral color will add a nice luxurious touch.  Another staple piece like comfortable sandals are a must.  Remember you will most likely be walking over sand!  Then add on some shell themed jewelry, and perhaps sunglasses for cute pictures as well!

Groom Wedding Wear

Traditionally, a groom usually wears a shiny black tuxedo complete with bow tie. However, the black tux and white dress shirt elegance obviously is not  for everyone.  Plus black conducts heat which can make you hot.  Men should consider either cotton or linen material. Some examples of what the groom may wear to a beach wedding are: A casual Hawaiian aloha shirt made of comfortable cotton. Or any color button down linen shirt with a vest will look great with  khaki pants, and sandals.  Some guys prefer to wear their favorite sneakers too. A straw hat and definitely a pair of sunglasses will be stylish. So, there is usually one other primary reason why a bride and groom choose a beach for their special day, which might come as a surprise; the comfortable attire!

Guest Wear

As a friend or family member, if you are planning to attend a wedding in Hawaii,  then you will be happy to know your wedding attire is not a big concern or expense either. Wedding guest dress can follow the lead of the bride and groom. Those who like to relax, feel comfortable, and kick off their shoes will be pleased with attending a Hawaii wedding in casual beach wedding wear.  So there really aren’t a lot of requirements other than dress comfortably and you’ll be in style

A few other things to consider bringing besides what to wear to a wedding in Hawaii are things like a small cooler with water, sun hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and possibly an umbrella for any senior citizens attending.

So, whether the bride and groom decide to go sweet and simple or bold and brilliant with their beach wedding, there is no doubt that it will be a show stopper.

A Hawaii Beach Wedding Story

Sandy Beach Oahu

There are many options for a Hawaii Beach Wedding and several different islands to consider.  One never knows what to expect or how to prepare when planning for a Beach Wedding on the island of Oahu.   During the summer months Oahu picks up large swells generated from storms in the Southern Hemisphere.  What could possibly be better than a small intimate beach wedding in Hawaii, right? Well what about a beach wedding with beautiful weather and high surf dancing off the sands for creating some fun and gorgeous photos? One couple decided to choose Sandy Beach for their Oahu wedding and it turned out to be the perfect spot.

Adam & Megan’s Hawaii Beach Wedding

With a wedding date set for July, everything was absolutely wonderful; with blue seas, bright sands, and amazing family to celebrate with them, Adam and Megan were ready to celebrate one of the most important days of their lives! The sun’s rays illuminated the warmth and happiness radiating from the newly married couple.  In fact, not only was the sun perfect, but one of the most exciting elements of the wedding had to do with the big surf breaking offshore.

For Adam and Megan, their beach wedding in Hawaii just happened to fall on the same day as the arrival as the largest swell of the year! How exciting is that?!   For the most part the breaking waves never posed a big threat.  But they sure did make this couple just a little wet when a big set washed through.

All Inclusive Wedding in Hawaii

Why an all inclusive wedding in Hawaii?

Because it’s affordable!

It is said, “never start off your marriage in debt”.  Yet on average couples will spend up to $20,000. to $30,000. for a traditional wedding and start their new life strapped with paying off their big day.  A great idea is to consider an all inclusive wedding in Hawaii.  It’s much less expensive and thus less of a financial strain when just starting out. Also, you’re already in Hawaii for your honeymoon, how nice is that!

Whether it’s your first time to Hawaii or if you are returning, you’re in for a unique, special, and memorable experience.   Orchid flower leis, lush tropical landscapes, majestic mountains, and white sand beaches. Hawaii has it all. You’ll be surrounded with beautiful scenery and charming culture. “Aloha” is an often said warm expression everywhere you go.

If a small group of friends and family are traveling with you, the convenience of limousine service sure takes the hassle out of having to drive.  Plus it’s way more fun!  Whether you need an 8 or 14 passenger limousine traveling in style to your beach wedding is worth it.

Door to Door Limo Service

To plan for your trip to Hawaii is one thing.  Then, planning for your wedding is another.  You will want to take full advantage of the nice weather on your wedding day.  Because of the different opportunities for a location choosing a beautiful beach or lush tropical parkare two considerations.  Check out the best destination wedding locations.

Dress comfortably

The climate in Hawaii is warm and tropical. Dressing comfortable for your beach wedding is important to make your special day that much more enjoyable. Dresses with a train or lace trim can make getting around the beach difficult.  For instance, at Waimanalo Bay Beach there are many ironwood trees with pine needles just off the beach.  Therefore, a lengthy wedding dress will pick up unwanted pine needles and other debris.  So, a dress that is made of light fabric that is shorter is recommended.

In Hawaii we are blessed with sunshine and light wind most of the time.  Yet, there are times when the weather doesn’t always cooperate.  Typically when it rains it Hawaii it is only for a short time and often times if we just wait the weather will clear up.In case of light rain, we typically wait till it stop as it’s just a passing shower.  Because we are committed to providing the best service, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

If you are looking for the ideal all inclusive wedding location, look no further.  You’ve found what you are looking for in booking your wedding in Hawaii.

Tide Pools at Sandy Beach

Sandy Beach Photo Session

A Beach Wedding in Honolulu

Planning for a Sandy Beach Wedding in Honolulu on Oahu, is an excellent choice.  Located just 30 minutes from Waikiki Sandy Beach sits at the base of Koko Head Crater. It has beautiful golden sand and a colorful blue ocean for a backdrop. It also has  lava rock tide pools too. The natural setting at Sandy Beach make it perfect for beach wedding photos.

Like it’s nearby neighbor Makapu’u, Sandy Beach is a favorite beach for body surfing.  During the summer months the shore break waves are quite powerful and dangerous.  Only those with local knowledge venture out. Off in the distance the Blowhole at Halona Cove is quite spectacular to watch the big surf crashing into the black lava cliffs.  The blowhole can erupt shooting water up super high like a geyser! It is most spectacular when it’s high tide and windy. You’ll hear a hum noise  just before the blowhole erupts.  As a side note, Halona Cove Beach or Eternity Beach as it is also known was the setting of the famous scene where Burt Lancaster kisses Deborah Kerr in 1953’s “From Here To Eternity. The famous kiss considered very risque at that time in American film.

Most people come to Sandy Beach just to watch the waves, take photos, fly a kite, or just enjoy the day with friends and family. There is not much shade at Sandy Beach Park. That’s one reason why we prefer late afternoons close to sunset when the sun is not as hot and bright.   For an ideal beach wedding location on Oahu, Sandy Beach is a great choice.  You’ll want the best wedding planner in Honolulu to plan your premier Oahu Beach Wedding. So start organizing the wedding of your dreams in Hawaii!
